HAFA Community Education
In the true tradition of craft artisans and in keeping with its purpose, HAFA is committed to passing skills to the next generation. The Educational Outreach Program was established to introduce fiber as an art medium in Houston area schools.
HAFA members have conducted workshops in their areas of expertise both for groups of students and school art teachers. HAFA has provided the materials used in these classes.
HAFA offers a slide/lecture presentation, available to any interested group for its program. There is no speaker fee. The slide presentation includes a diverse selection of members' work with commentary about materials and techniques used as well as the artist's inspiration for the piece.
An informal style show of members' art to wear garments can also be provided.
